Teriyaki Potroast

Teriyaki Potroast
One of the best things about being stuck inside during a snowstorm is turning on the slowcooker. I had a nice roast sitting in the crock pot and instead of adding my traditional beef broth and minced garlic, I grabbed a bottle of VH Teriyaki cooking sauce and added enough just to cover the top of the roast. Talk about a risky move! I don't know if it's Chinese New Year rubbing off on me but I've been all about the Asian flavors lately. Also added some cubed up potatoes and baby carrots to the mix and let it cook for 4 hours. As it was warming, I wok fried some broccoli and mushrooms. It actually turned out pretty good and there was lots of juices in the pot from the sauce and roast to put over the meat and veggies. It was fun to take such a traditional meal and add a bit of mixed flavor to it! Think of a staple meal you cook in your home and try to jazz it up... you might just surprise yourself and your family!

I have a slow cooker to, but rarely use it these days, just try to make fast meals. Such a great tip for making pot roast in the slow cooker...haven't made that in years. So comforting and yummy!

Slowcookers are a wonderful invention! They make the best comfort food with little effort on your own part since it does all the work!
